This topic does not necessarily have
a direct impact on Major League Baseball, but as a huge Game of Thrones fan, it
would be sacrilegious of me to not discuss this subject. The Mets have announced that their star
pitcher Noah Syndergaard will be given a cameo appearance on HBO’s hit series
Game of Thrones. Supposedly Syndergaard
is a huge fan of the show, and jumped at the opportunity for a guest
appearance.
Syndergaard should fit in
beautifully with the cast of Game of Thrones.
He has earned the nickname “Thor” throughout his time in the major
leagues thanks to his long blonde hair, strong build, and enormously impressive
arm strength. Game of Thrones has a cast
of actors that are all well-built and have very long hair, just like
Syndergaard.
If I had to make a prediction, I
would say that Syndergaard is casted as a member of Queen Daenerys’ army. I think this is most likely where Syndergaard
will appear in the show because he filmed his cameo in Spain, and in the show, Daenerys
is currently making her way south to Westeros in an attempt to take over the
iron throne. This is just a
prediction. All I know for sure, is that
the only thing I am more excited to see than Thor’s appearance in Game of
Thrones, is whether or not the Mets give him the ball on opening day this
year. With Matt Harvey being injured,
Syndergaard is far and away the most talented pitcher on the Mets and it would
be a travesty if he doesn’t get the start day one.
